HTS-1 Immersion Suit
Helly Hansen is the contracted provider for offshore immersion suits. Since 2009, Helly Hansen has provided the Nautilus HTS-1 coldwater immersion suit. This suit was specifically developed to meet the needs of the offshore population of the East Coast of Canada, and has been approved by Transport Canada.
Approvals
- CAN/CGSB 65.17-1999 - Helicopter Passenger Transportation Suit Systems
- CAN/CGSB 65.16-2005 - Marine Suit Standard
All passengers must receive a personal suit fitting by Helly Hansen prior to the day of offshore travel. This allows Helly Hansen to ensure that each passenger is sized in the suit that best fits the passenger's individual body type, and that each passenger is able to achieve the correct face seal. Suit fittings also ensure that passengers are fully cognizant of the function and usage of the immersion suit.
Prior to flight departure, passengers receive an auxiliary suit fit check to ensure that the immersion suit which has been issued is fitting properly, and that the passenger does not have any concerns about this essential piece of safety equipment.
Passengers are encouraged to voice any concerns about the suit prior to departing the passenger lounge for boarding the aircraft.
